Adult Choir
Rasheed Ogunlaru
“It does not need to be perfect to be magic”
Our choir is a welcoming and supportive community where people come together to enjoy singing, build confidence, and share the experience of making music together. Whether you are an experienced singer or completely new to choir singing, everyone is welcome.
Each term is carefully planned in advance, giving us a clear structure and musical goals across our 12 weeks of rehearsals. Song choices are selected ahead of time, with choir members also helping to influence part of the repertoire we sing.
Before each term begins, all lyrics, sheet music, and rehearsal resources are shared via Dropbox. We also provide separate audio learning tracks for each vocal part, allowing members to learn either through sheet music or simply by listening and learning by ear at home.
We also value the social side of choir life. On most weeks, members are welcome to arrive half an hour early for complimentary teas and coffees, giving everyone time to relax, chat, and unwind before rehearsals begin promptly at 7:30pm.
Above all, our choir is about enjoying music together in a friendly, encouraging, and inclusive environment.

FAQs
Do I need previous singing or choir experience?
Not at all. Our choir is open to everyone, whether you’ve sung in choirs before or are completely new to group singing. The most important thing is simply a willingness to learn and enjoy the experience.
Do I need to be able to read sheet music?
No — many of our members learn by ear. Alongside sheet music and lyrics, we also provide audio learning tracks for each vocal part, allowing members to learn in the way that suits them best.
What kind of music do you sing?
We sing a wide variety of contemporary and popular music, carefully chosen each term to create an enjoyable and varied repertoire. Choir members also help influence some of the song choices throughout the year.
How are rehearsals organised?
Each term is planned in advance across 12 structured rehearsals, giving us clear musical goals to work towards together. Rehearsals begin promptly at 7:30pm each Thursday evening.
Can I prepare before rehearsals?
Absolutely. Before each term begins, all lyrics, sheet music, and vocal learning tracks are shared via Dropbox so members can familiarise themselves with the songs ahead of rehearsals.
Is there a social side to the choir?
Very much so. On most weeks we open the doors half an hour early for complimentary teas and Nespresso coffees, giving everyone time to relax, chat, and unwind before rehearsals begin.
Can I try a rehearsal before joining?
Yes — your first rehearsal is completely free, giving you the opportunity to experience the choir, meet other members, and see whether the style, atmosphere, and musical approach feel like the right fit for you.
How much does choir membership cost?
Choir membership is £126 per 12-week term.
